Our Projects

christmas lunch oN jesus

Most people are familiar with the story of baby Jesus as depicted by nativity plays at Christmas; but who is this Jesus? Was He just a prophet who lived many years ago? Was Jesus more than just an historical figure, a good man who taught people how to be good? And why is He giving away Christmas lunches?

So what does Jesus have to do with Christmas lunches? Because Jesus spent His life giving to others even giving His very life on the cross, we as His followers want to carry on His example. He has given us so much life, joy, peace, healing, and we want to give to others in return. It’s just our way of showing people that Jesus loves them.

If you would like to have a relationship with the One who loved you enough to die for you, you need to give your life to Him. There is no magic prayer, no special formula. You just need to admit that you are a sinner, believe that Jesus died for you, and turn from your sin and give your life to Jesus.

Every Christmas, families benefit from the Christmas hampers delivered by C.I.A Northampton. If you or someone you know will struggle at Christmas this year, CIA Northampton is happy to share the love of Jesus Christ by giving a Christmas hamper.

Please feel free to contact us and the hampers will be delivered closer to Christmas 2020.

LINKING LIVES NORTHAMPTON

Linking Lives Northampton is a befriending scheme for isolated older people.

Our aim is to significantly improve quality of life for as many isolated people in Northampton as we can. We hope to improve our clients’ sense of wellbeing, improve their self-esteem and reduce their isolation as a result of their participation in the befriending scheme. We also aspire to help our clients reintegrate into society by enabling them to form new relationships through their involvement in the scheme.

Our motivation for running this project is found in Psalm 68:5-6:

5A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows,
Is God in His holy habitation.
6 God sets the solitary in families;
He brings out those who are bound into prosperity;
But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

We firmly believe that we are God’s representatives to lonely and isolated people and we therefore have a mandate to meet their needs in this regard. The befriending scheme also offers an invaluable opportunity for Christian volunteers to share their faith in God.

HOW CAN YOU BE A PART OF THIS PROJECT?

1. VOLUNTEER: The scheme relies on volunteers to meet its mandate. No special skills are required! We have lovely link friends waiting to be matched with a volunteer. Could that person be you? For more information on how to volunteer call 07405 318627 or email: northampton@linkinglives.uk.
